Have you ever considered writing your personal autobiography? It might be inspiring to examine all the things that happened though your childhood and life. The purpose is not necessarily to tell the world about everything you have or have not done as much as it’s a personal reflection of the memories that shaped your character.

autobiography

Recently, I have been cleaning out my parents attic and came across all the book reports and school key papers from grade school through college. After opening several garbage bags of my books, I found my personal autobiography dated Nov. 20, 1981. It covered 4 chapters and a summary of my childhood memories. (thanks to Mom for saving it). The triggering memories of those great times being a kid released thoughts and emotions about the speed of life.

Wonder what thoughts, ideas might happen by writing out a current autobiography covering the past, the present and the future. If you like to write, give it a shot and a few of the benefits would include:

  • Leaving your story to your heirs
  • You may inspire another individual if you share your story
  • It may offer inspirational ideas
  • Increases personal self awareness
  • It will force some additional self-discipline when writing it all down
  • Lifetime memories and it’s fun!

The idea is not to pump up your ego, but more of a fun journey through life. Give it a try and focus on an outline to start. The rest will flow from there as you rapidly write the stories. Have fun.
